Somers Sparks!!!!
Question: What percentage of the time will the sparks appear?
Hypothesis: We think that most of the time you will not build up enough static electricity so it will only happen about 22.5% of the time.
Procedure:
Special Needs: We need a darkened space. We also need a space that has the temperature of 75 about degrees Fahrenheit. |
The Science behind it
We are using static electricity. The static electricity is being made by the movement of electrons. They hold a negative electric charge. When rubbing the balloon on wool, it puts electrons onto the balloon.
Our Conclusion
In conclusion, after doing our experiment multiple times we realized that there is no exact answer to our question. It depends on if you rub the balloon long enough or if you are in the correct conditions. There is no way to know if our hypothesis was correct or incorrect. Therefore, the answer to our question is unpredictable.
