Dancing Eggs in Water
Question: What happens to eggs when dropped in different types of water?
Hypothesis: We believe that a raw egg cannot float because its density is greater than water.
The Science behind itThis experiment is an example of density. Density is the amount of matter in a given space. Since the egg is denser than water, it pushes away the water particles and sinks to the bottom of the cup. The salt water is heavier than plain water, so it can hold the egg up and lets it float. The two eggs either sink or float because of density.

Conclusions
The egg placed in saltwater floated and the egg in tap water did not float. The egg that was placed in tap water sank because its density was greater than water's density of 1.0. The egg placed in salt water floated. By adding salt, the water's density was increased to more than an egg, therefore preventing the egg from sinking.
