POP! Explosion!
Question: What will happen if we mix baking soda and vinegar in a sealed bag?
Hypothesis: Our hypothesis is when you mix vinegar and baking soda in a sealed bag it will inflate the bag then pop. We think this because we know that CO2 can make a chemical reaction.
Procedure:
No special needs for this experiment. |
Us in action!: Here is a video of us doing the experiment! |
The Science behind it
The baking soda mixed with the vinegar makes C02 (carbon dioxide). Carbon dioxide is a deadly gas that has a chemical reaction with certain substances. The CO2 will fill the bag with it's air so then the bag will inflate then ......POP!
Conclusions
Are hypothesis was correct! We found out that the baking soda and vinegar make a chemical reaction. we studied the final product and it looked very mangled, fumbled, and messed up. CO2 was behind it all. CO2 was made by the baking soda and vinegar mixed!
